EA FC 24 – Fire Versus Ice Team Review
The eagerly anticipated Fire Versus Ice team 2 release for EA FC 24 has finally arrived, showcasing a stellar lineup of player cards! In this article, we will delve into a detailed analysis of each player’s in-game stats, providing a thorough breakdown in understanding the pros and cons of each card.
Fire Versus Team 2 Review
Rodri – 91:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 4*/4*
Work Rate: Medium/High
Playstyles: Power Shot (+), Long Ball Pass, Press Proven, Intercept, Anticipate, Bruiser
Preferred Chem Style: Shadow
Big pace boost for Rodri, which is lovely. Amazing stats all-around, and in the necessary areas as well. 91 short passing and 92 long passing for a midfielder, 99 shot power and 91 long shots, and top-tier defending; this card is just absolutely insane.
Rating: 10/10
Marcus Rashford – 90:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 5*/3*
Work Rate: High/Medium
Playstyles: Rapid (+), Finesse Shot, Power Shot, Technical, Flair, Quick Step, Trivela
Preferred Chem Style: Hunter
A bit unfortunate that both versions of Rashford did not receive a weak foot upgrade, but with those in-game stats compared to his Centurions, you can’t complain. Great pace, shooting, and dribbing for a winger, with decent passing stats. On top of that, great playstyles to go along with this card.
Rating: 9/10
Wendie Renard – 89:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 3*/4*
Work Rate: High/High
Playstyles: Bruiser (+), Power Header, Long Ball Pass, Jockey, Anticipate, Aerial
Preferred Chem Style: Shadow
Slightly underwhelming card, especially with the pace boost. If you don’t mind the 75 pace, then this card looks pretty good defensively. Immaculate defense and physicals, great dribbling for a CB, and 82 short passing/86 long passing. My overall verdict: This card is a bit behind the meta and not in-line with the current power curve.
Rating: 7/10
Alexis Sanchez – 88:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 5*/4*
Work Rate: High/High
Playstyles: Flair (+), Finesse Shot, Incisive Pass, Tiki Taka, Technical, First Touch, Quick Step
Preferred Chem Style: Hunter
Love the dynamic and this version overall. The Playstyle+ for this version may be somewhat useless, but the other playstyles are pretty top-tier. Looking at his in-game stats, he has some ridiculous dribbling, great shooting aside from penalties, and very decent passing for a striker. If you don’t mind his low strength and stamina, then this card’s the one for you.
Rating: 7/10
Antonio Rudiger – 88:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 3*/3*
Work Rate: High/High
Playstyles: Aerial (+), Block, Intercept, Relentless
Preferred Chem Style: Shadow
Weird pace split for this version of Rudiger, but his defensive capabilities make up for it, especially having 94 strength and aggression in addition to top-tier defending. Rudiger’s cards these past FIFAs/FCs have been cracked, and I expect nothing less from this version.
Rating: 10/10
Ashley Lawrence – 88:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 4*/4*
Work Rate: High/High
Playstyles: Technical (+), Whipped Pass, Jockey, Block, Quick Step, Relentless
Preferred Chem Style: Shadow
Just by looking at her stats and playstyles, she’s definitely a top-tier fullback. Insane defending and passing, great dribbling aside from ball control and dribbling, nice physicals, and above-average pace. On top of that, this version has some amazing playstyles. Great card overall.
Rating: 9/10
Fikayo Tomori – 88:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 3*/4*
Work Rate: Medium/High
Playstyles: Block (+), Power Header, Jockey, Slide Tackle, Relentless
Preferred Chem Style: Shadow
We all know how Tomori is in-game, so there’s not much to say aside from how beast of a card this is. Amazing pace for a CB, great physicals and dribbling, and nice dribbling. If you’re able to pack him, then you won’t need another CB for a couple of months.
Rating: 10/10
Joao Felix – 88:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 5*/4*
Work Rate: High/Medium
Playstyles: First Touch (+), Technical, Flair, Trickster, Trivela
Preferred Chem Style: Hunter
Personally, this card isn’t anything special, but it’s definitely not bad. The pace and dribbling is great, with some decent passing and good playstyles to go alongside it, but the finishing is just very average, which is crucial at this current stage of EA FC 24.
Rating: 7/10
Kingsley Coman – 88:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 5*/3*
Work Rate: High/Medium
Playstyles: Relentless (+), Pinged Pass, Rapid, Flair, First Touch, Quick Step, Acrobatic
Preferred Chem Style: Hunter
Similar to what I said about Felix, this card isn’t that amazing, but it’s also not that horrible. Top-tier dribbling and pace, good playstyles, but other than that, average everywhere else, especially with his shooting stats.
Rating: 7/10
(SBC) Gavi – 88:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 5*/4*
Cost: ~230k
Work Rate: High/High
Playstyles: First Touch (+), Tiki Taka, Technical, Rapid, Flair, Trickster, Slide Tackle, Relentless
Preferred Chem Style: Shadow
You have a choice between this fire version having increased pace and dribbling with 5* SM, or the ice version having increased passing and defending with a 5* WF. Depending on how you play in-game, you could go either way, and whichever route you choose, both cards are amazing and at a great price. My choice was the ice version solely for the Incisive Pass+, but if you’re a skiller, then definitely go for this card. This card has some nice stats, with amazing passing and perfect dribbling, great defending aside from awareness, and nice stamina. As a pure midfielder, he’s really good.
Rating: 9/10
Richarlison – 87
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 4*/5*
Work Rate: High/Medium
Playstyles: Rapid (+), Power Shot, Power Header, Technical, Flair, Trivela, Acrobatic, Aerial
Preferred Chem Style: Hunter
An average card for a winger, and it’s sad to say that about him, considering how his cards were in previous games. Good pace, and perfect heading and jumping for corner kicks, but just very average everywhere else.
Rating: 7/10
Christian Gunter – 87:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 4*/4*
Work Rate: High/High
Playstyles: Quick Step (+), Whipped Pass, Rapid, Relentless
Preferred Chem Style: Shadow
Yet another average card. Great pace and physicals, but dribbling and defending for a fullback is just not that good.
Rating: 5/10
Cody Gakpo – 86:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 5*/4*
Work Rate: High/Medium
Playstyles: Power Shot (+), Finesse Shot, Technical, Quick Step, Trivela
Preferred Chem Style: Hunter
I really like this card as a pure striker. 5* SM, great pace and shooting in the right areas, and solid dribbling aside from balance. If you’re a Liverpool fan, you’re going to love this version of Gakpo.
Rating: 9/10
Ice Versus Team 2 Review
Rodri – 91:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 4*/4*
Work Rate: Medium/High
Playstyles: Press Proven (+), Power Shot, Long Ball Pass, Intercept, Anticipate, Bruiser
Preferred Chem Style: Shadow
What I said about the fire version of Rodri applies to this card as well. Greater pace boost, passing and dribbling with this card while sacrificing defending, shooting, and physicals, but both versions are absolutely insane in their own way. If you’re able to get either one of them, then GG to you.
Rating: 10/10
Marcus Rashford – 90:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 5*/4*
Work Rate: High/Low
Playstyles: Trivela (+), Finesse Shot, Power Shot, Technical, Rapid, Flair, Quick Step
Preferred Chem Style: Hunter
Both versions of Rashford are going to be very, very expensive, since both are just down-right amazing, so there really isn’t a version where one’s better than the other – It just depends on personal preference.
Rating: 10/10
Wendie Renard – 89:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 3*/4*
Work Rate: High/High
Playstyles: Aerial (+), Power Header, Long Ball Pass, Jockey, Anticipate, Bruiser
Preferred Chem Style: Shadow
Love the position change from CB to CDM, ’cause there can be a debate on whether this card is usable in her current position. What I said about Renard previously applies to this card as well: Immaculate defense and physicals, decent dribbling, and average pace for CDM. However, if you’re playing her purely as a CDM, then she can potentially be a huge asset for your team.
Rating: 8/10
Antonio Rudiger – 88:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 3*/3*
Work Rate: High/High
Playstyles: Intercept (+), Block, Relentless, Aerial
Preferred Chem Style: Shadow
Compared to his fire version, this card has less defending and physical, but more pace, passing, and dribbling. As a CB, you’d want to go for the higher defensive stats, which is why the fire version is slightly better, but both cards are still top-tier.
Rating: 8/10
Kingsley Coman – 88:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 5*/3*
Work Rate: High/Medium
Playstyles: Pinged Pass (+), Rapid, Flair, First Touch, Quick Step, Relentless, Acrobatic
Preferred Chem Style: Hunter
This version compared to his fire counterpart has more shooting and passing, same pace, but less dribbling and physicals. The Pinged Pass+ is another pro that this card has over the fire version, which has relentless as its Playstyle+, and as a winger, that is one of the best playstyles you could have. Overall, the ice version is better, but it all comes down to personal preference at the end of the day.
Rating: 8/10
Joao Felix – 88:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 5*/4*
Work Rate: High/Medium
Playstyles: Trivela (+), Technical, Flair, First Touch, Trickster
Preferred Chem Style: Hunter
I personally like this card a lot since it has way better shooting and the position change alongside Trivela+ is a huge plus, whereas the fire version has First Touch+ and average finishing for a winger. Sure, the pace is less on this card, but you can’t overlook how good his finishing is in combination with top-tier dribbling.
Rating: 9/10
(SBC) Gavi – 88:
Cost: ~230k
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 4*/5*
Work Rate: High/High
Playstyles: Incisive Pass (+), Long Ball Pass, Tiki Taka, Rapid, Flair, First Touch, Slide Tackle, Relentless
Preferred Chem Style: Shadow
What I said about Gavi’s fire version also applies to this card. The reason I chose this version is because of Incisive Pass+, but it all comes down to personal preference, since both cards are equally good.
Rating: 9/10
Ashley Lawrence – 88:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 5*/4*
Work Rate: High/Medium
Playstyles: Jockey (+), Whipped Pass, Technical, Block, Quick Step, Relentless
Preferred Chem Style: Shadow
Both versions of Lawrence are amazing, but this Ice version holds superior due to the dribbling upgrade, boosting up her ball control and dribbling, which the fire version was lacking. Although the defending and physicals are lower on this card, she’s still a great fullback, especially with the Jockey+ playstyle.
Rating: 9/10
Fikayo Tomori – 88:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 3*/4*
Work Rate: Medium/High
Playstyles: Jockey (+), Power Header, Block, Slide Tackle, Relentless
Preferred Chem Style: Shadow
Because it’s Tomori, both versions are insanely meta, but it’s weird how there’s no downgrade to this version; just a dribbling and passing upgrade as well as a position change. Either way, cracked card overall.
Rating: 9/10
Alexis Sanchez – 88:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 4*/5*
Work Rate: High/High
Playstyles: Tiki Taka (+), Finesse Shot, Incisive Pass, Technical, Flair, First Touch, Quick Step
Preferred Chem Style: Hunter
The only reason I dislike this card is how average they made his shooting compared to the fire version. Passing and dribbling is elite, but pace and shooting is far more inferior than the fire version. The trade-off is a bit odd, but it’s EA, not much to say there.
Rating: 7/10
Christian Gunter – 87:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 4*/4*
Work Rate: High/High
Playstyles: Whipped Pass (+), Rapid, Quick Step, Relentless
Preferred Chem Style: Shadow
Similar review like with his fire version: Average card. Physicals are very nice as well as pace, but underwhelming everywhere else.
Rating: 5/10
Richarlison – 88:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 4*/5*
Work Rate: High/Medium
Playstyles: Acrobatic (+), Power Shot, Power Header, Technical, Rapid, Flair, Trivela, Aerial
Preferred Chem Style: Hunter
This is a really good card compared to his fire version. Absolutely love the shooting upgrade and increased physicals, and decent enough pace to make this card useable. 70 balance is still below-average, but this version looks fun to try out.
Rating: 7/10
Cody Gakpo- 86:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 4*/5*
Work Rate: High/Medium
Playstyles: Quick Step (+), Finesse Shot, Power Shot, Technical, Trivela
Preferred Chem Style: Hunter
Similar review to what I said about Gakpo’s fire version: 5* WF, great pace and shooting in the right areas, and solid dribbling aside from balance.
Rating: 8/10
