Winter Wildcards Review
Raúl - 92:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 4*/5*
Work Rate: High/Medium
Playstyles: Finesse (+), Chip Shot, Technical, Flair, First Touch, Quick Step, Trivela
Preferred Chem Style: Hunter
A 5* Weak Foot upgrade alongside a hefty boost, this card looks very usable, high agility balance and reactions as well as a lean body type and he looks half decent.
If you give him a Hunter he will definitely do a job up top
Rating: 8/10
Hugo Sánchez- 91:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 4*/4*
Work Rate: High/Medium
Playstyles: Dead Ball (+), Power Shot, Power Header, Flair, First Touch, Acrobatic, Aerial
Preferred Chem Style: Hawk
Disappointing that they didn't give him a Weak Foot or a Skill Move upgrade but he still looks very usable.
His Playstyle+ is a little bit of a let down and he's still a little on the weak side but looks like he will cause carnage on the wing!
Rating: 7/10
Dennis Bergkamp - 92:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 4*/4*
Work Rate: High/High
Playstyles: Incisive Pass (+), Finesse Shot, Pinged Pass, Tiki Taka, First Touch, Press Proven, Trivela
Preferred Chem Style: Marksman
The fact that he is 4*4* is insane, he was one of the most talented footballers of his time.
This card doesn't have anything that really stands out as amazing.
Rating: 6/10
Alan Shearer - 91:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 4*/4*
Work Rate: High/Med
Playstyles: Long Ball (+), Power Shot, Pinged Pass, Rapid, Press Proven
Preferred Chem Style: Engine/Hunter
Massively let down by the dribbling stats, he will feel very bulky so wouldn't be my ideal choice for a winger, through the middle he's barely usable either!
Rating: 4/10
Garrincha - 93:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 5*/4*
Work Rate: High/Low
Playstyles: Technical (+), Finesse Shot, Rapid, Flair, First Touch, Trickster, Quick Step
Preferred Chem Style: Engine/Hunter
Not a massive upgrade on his base Icon card, I would not pay anywhere near the current price, he does have a nice new Playstyle+ (Technical+) swapped for Trickster+ and 4 new Playstyles to Juice his runs down the wing, still a very nice card but think it's worth waiting to see where his price settles.
Rating: 8/10
Miroslav Klose - 90:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 3*/4*
Work Rate: Medium/High
Playstyles: Aerial (+), Jockey, Block, Intercept, Anticipate, Quick Step, Relentless
Preferred Chem Style: Anchor
This one is a hard one for me to judge, he reminds me a little of Thunderstruck Alonso, he feels clunky and doesn't play to his stats. I think this could be similar and will be a disappointment in game.
Rating: 5/10
Michael Laudrup - 90:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 4*/4*
Work Rate: High/High
Playstyles: Whipped Pass (+), Incisive Pass, Jockey, Block, Intercept, Flair, First Touch
Preferred Chem Style: Anchor/Engine
My first thoughts were that he looked more like a Right Mid than a Right Back but looking at his shooting, he would be a poor winger, his defensive stats are pretty average too... A hard pass on this one for me.
Rating: 4/10
Lev Yashin - 93:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 2*/3*
Work Rate: Med/High
Playstyles: Block (+), Jockey, Intercept, Anticipate, Relentless
Preferred Chem Style: Shadow
This card excites me, a lot.
He has all the attributes, playstyles and physical traits to be a fantastic Centre Back.
I can't wait to try him out...I hope he doesn't disappoint!
Rating: 10/10
Mohammed Salah - 92:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 4*/3*
Work Rate: High/Med
Playstyles: Finesse (+), Chip Shot, Rapid, Trivela
Preferred Chem Style: Hawk
This review writes itself, even his gold card is class, the only let down with this card is the Weak Foot hasn't been upgraded...4*4* and he's a different breed!
Rating: 10/10
Skelly Alvero - 85:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 3*/3*
Work Rate: Med/Med
Playstyles: Fair Throw, Footwork, Rush Out
Preferred Chem Style: Basic
This guy was almost discard upon release! At 6'8" I have to try him out! He could be a hidden gem.
More than likely he will be awful but you can't really lose coins on him!
Rating: 8/10
Thibaut Courtois - 91:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 4*/4*
Work Rate: Med/Med
Playstyles: Aerial (+). Power Header, Technical, First Touch, Press Proven, Relentless, Acrobatic
Preferred Chem Style: Hunter
He has Aerial Playstyle, 99 Jumping and is 6'6"(199cm)... Noone is beating him in the air.
He's going to be a wonder player for corners... On first look at the face stats I expected him to be clunky but he boasts 99 Agility, 99 Balance and 99 Reactions...With 99 composure. He could be a beast!
Rating: 8/10
Casemiro - 90:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 4*/5*
Work Rate: Med/Med
Playstyles: Aerial (+). Power Header, Technical, First Touch, Press Proven, Relentless, Acrobatic
Preferred Chem Style: Hunter
This card looks half decent on face stats, 90 Pace and 88 Shooting isn't too shabby, the pace split is horrific though, 86 Acceleration... 88 Finishing twinned with 99 Shot Power makes me think that he sprays his shots like a shotgun.
Adding to the fact he's probably going to be very clunky with 73 Agility and 77 Balance I think he's going to be a definite miss!
Rating: 4/10
Debinha - 89:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 5*/5*
Work Rate: High/Med
Playstyles: Technical (+), Flair, First Touch, Trickster, Quick Step, Trivela, Acrobatic
Preferred Chem Style: Engine/Marksman
This is ten times the cost of the Gold card but with only a minimal upgrade, 100% not worth the upgrade. Just buy the Gold.
Rating: 2/10
Jules Kounde - 89:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 3*/3*
Work Rate: Med/High
Playstyles: Bruiser (+), Jockey, Anticipate, Slide Tackle, Quick Step, Relentless
Preferred Chem Style: Anchor
He is very similar defensively to his Trailblazer card but with a decent boost to his Shooting (+14) and Passing (+10). He's a decent player to swap with WW Alaba/Moore as he's very good at Centre Back.
At this time of writing this he's also a LOT cheaper than his Trailblazer.
The Passing & Dribbling stats for me are way too low for a midfield enforcer so he'd be a miss for me.
Rating: 5/10
Leon Goretzka - 88:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 3*/4*
Work Rate: High/Med
Playstyles: Intercept (+), Power Shot, Bruiser, Aerial
Preferred Chem Style: Anchor
Leon Goretzka always seems to have OP cards due to his body type, this card seems to be no exception.
He's been juiced up compared to his ToTW and will no doubt play above hid stats.
Rating: 8/10
William Saliba - 87:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 2*/3*
Work Rate: Med/High
Playstyles: Intercept (+), Power Header, Jockey, Anticipate, Bruiser
Preferred Chem Style: Shadow
Another player who plays well above his face stats, his Gold was amazing early on in the game cycle, he should be similar to Thunderstruck Varane and Gomez.
Rating: 9/10
Renato Sanches - 86:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 4*/4*
Work Rate: High/High
Playstyles: Pinged Pass (+), Long Ball Pass, Quick Step, Trivela
Preferred Chem Style: Shadow
Another year, Another insane Renato Sanches card, it's literally a guarantee every year.
4*4* is more than usable for a defensive midfielder and he will be rapid with a Shadow chem. I like the look of him very much!
Rating: 8.5/10
Tariq Lamptey - 86:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 3*/5*
Work Rate: High/Med
Playstyles: Long Throw (+), Tiki Taka, Block, Slide Tackle, Rapid, Quick Step
Preferred Chem Style: Anchor
His physicality got a massive upgrade on his ToTW, this card is likely to be very solid in game. An upgrade to his Skill Moves and Weak Foot (A generous +2). He looks very capable as a Right back but not nearly the best on offer.
Rating: 7/10
Karim Adeyemi - 86:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 4*/4*
Work Rate: High/High
Playstyles: Quick Step (+), Rapid, Flair, Acrobatic, Aerial
Preferred Chem Style: Deadeye, Marksman
Insane Pace twinned with great Dribbling but hampered by the Passing and Physicality stats.
For his current price there are definitely better options than this on offer
Rating: 7/10
Giacomo Raspadori - 85:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 4*/5*
Work Rate: High/Low
Playstyles: Rapid (+), Finesse Shot, Chip Shot, Technical, Trickster, Quick Step, Trivela
Preferred Chem Style: Hunter
For discard he's an interesting option, a 5* Weak Foot is a lovely bonus too.
He could easily be eligible for an Evo in the future.
Rating: 6/10
Alexis Claude-Maurice - 85:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 4*/3*
Work Rate: Med/Med
Playstyles: Technical (+), Incisive Pass, Whipped Pass, Jockey, Block, Trivela
Preferred Chem Style: Anchor
This card looks like a cheap beast! Reminds me of Evo Marco Llorente. He's currently not far off of fodder price and will likely get a lot closer to it.
Good for those who got EA for Christmas and have a limited budget.
Rating: 7/10
Jawasd El Yamiq - 84:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 2*/3*
Work Rate: High/Med
Playstyles: Quick Step (+), Long Ball, Intercept, Anticipate, Slide Tackle, Aerial
Preferred Chem Style: Shadow
This card is definitely in the fodder pile, he's got great Pace but poor defensive stats for a Centre Back.
Rating: 5/10
Jonjo Shelvey - 84:
Skill Moves/Weak Foot: 3*/4*
Work Rate: Med/Med
Playstyles: Slide Tackle (+), Long Ball Pass, Intercept, Trivela
Preferred Chem Style: Sentinel
With 99 Pace, you'd expect this card to be usable, the issue is that the rest of his stats are pretty poor, even with the Sentinel chem style his Defensive and Physical stats are bang average.
Good fodder.
Rating: 5/10
