FIFA 19 Future Stars
Class Of '19
Part 2
By Levelled Up

FIFA 19 Future Stars was the first time we saw this promo.
With the release of the FIFA 23 Future Stars team we thought it was a good time to look back to 2019 when we received our first ever Future Stars.
Looking back there are some that fared better than others, check them out below!
Luka Jovic

He showed massive promise at Frankfurt and deservedly was included in the Future Stars promo, due to this, he earnt a dream move to Real Madrid where his career faltered.
He hasn't really lit up the Italian league since leaving Los Blancos in the summer scoring 3 goals in 18 league starts.
Due to this he is currently in the undeserving category.
Future Stars Status: Undeserved
Dayot Upamecano

Upamecano was a very exciting prospect back in 2019, he transferred to the German champions in the summer of 2021 and has been a mainstay for club and country ever since.
Very deserved of the Future Stars tag but not as nailed on as some others.
Future Stars Status: Confirmed
Álejandro Grimaldo

Alex Grimaldo has been a loyal servant for Benfica, he has also had some very good performances over the years managing a very high scoring record for a defender.
The only thing that is against him being a world superstar is that fact he hasn't moved on to a major league and been challenged at the highest level.
Future Stars Status: Unconfirmed
Davide Calabria

One that hasn't really made waves outside of the Serie A, it was a hard one to judge as he could as easily go into the undecided category as the undeserved.
The one thing that swung it for me was the fact he is now 26 and doesn't show any signs of that 'superstar' status
Future Stars Status: Undeserved
Eder Militao

Probably one of the easiest to make a decision on.
Anything other than a nailed on superstar is just wrong, has been a regular starter for Real Madrid.
Future Stars Status: Nailed On
Ferland Mendy

Not only is Mendy one of the most overpowered players in FIFA, he is also one of the best left backs in the world.
Kept out of the World Cup by the fantastic Theo Hernandez but still deserves his Future Stars card.
Future Stars Status: Nailed On
Justin Kluivert

He was an exciting prospect back in 2020 and looked to be following in the footsteps of his father.
After being loaned out twice whilst at Roma he has found a new home at Valencia, unfortunately he hasn't excited since his move to Spain and therefore wouldn't merit his card retrospectively.
Future Stars Status: Undeserved
Matteo Guendouzi

This is a very hard one to judge, if it's purely based on footballing ability he should make it. His attitude is probably his biggest issue when looking to move to a big club and prove how good he really is.
For now I am leaving him in neither the deserved or undeserved column.
Future Stars Status: Unconfirmed
Dominic Calvert-Lewin

In 2019 he was pushing to be part of the England squad and not far from being one of the top scorers in the league.
In the past few years he's seen his stock decline and therefore probably should be in the undeserved category, the biggest thing that makes me question this is that fact that his team around him make it very hard to look good in.
Future Stars Status: Unconfirmed
Achraf Hakimi

Part of the Moroccan team in the World Cup that became the first African nation to reach the semi-finals and a starter for Paris Saint-Germain, the only issue I would have with his FIFA 19 Future Stars card is that it probably should have been higher!
Future Stars Status: Nailed On
