What Was Revealed In The New FIFA 23 Trailer?
The new FIFA 23 trailer was released yesterday, with the official release of the new game two months away, it was the first opportunity to get an insight, it didn't disappoint!
New Free Kick System
Free kicks have been totally revamped!
One new benefit is the expected goal stat (xG), which gives you an idea of whether it’s better to put it into the box or have a crack on goal.
In the reveal trailer you can see by the ball ‘inside foot curled’ meaning it is likely you will be able to mix up how you make contact with the ball to have the best chance of scoring.
An addition for the defending team as well! You can now have a player lie down behind the wall, it’s now a popular tactic used by sides globally so is a must!
Gameplay Update
Hypermotion was used in FIFA 22 for a more realistic gaming experience, this will be upgraded in FIFA 23 to HyperMotion2.

Advanced 11V11 Match Capture
Xsens suits were used to capture the movements of 22 footballers playing in a match scenario for the first time, This should mean that it should be more realistic than ever before!
Machine Learning
A cutting-edge proprietary machine learning algorithm learns from around 9 million frames of advanced match capture, this will then write new animations in real time to create realism across a variety of interactions on the pitch. Hopefully the end of the AI defenders not holding a line or not tracking runs.
Tactical AI
The tactical AI twinned with next-gen consoles gives each individual the ability to better understand both attacking and defensive formations and movement, creating a new level of tactical realism.
When attacking,the ability to make up to 6x more decisions per second gives attackers more awareness of their surroundings, allows them to make smarter runs in build-up play, and lets them react to loose balls quicker. Whilst in defence, the defensive AI has been completely re-written giving teams the ability to act as a tactical unit, retaining their shape to move across the pitch and cover vacant space.

New Ambassadors
The new ambassadors were announced for FIFA 23, these are real life footballers who will appear more promininently in game, The main additions are Sam Kerr, Vinicius Junior, Marie-Antoinette Katoto, Federico Valverde, Kai Havertz, Jack Grealish and Virgil Van Dijk, expect to see a lot more of them in the home page etc. of FIFA 23.
New Stadiums
Some brand new stadiums have been added to this year's release! New representation in the US, Spain, Germany and Netherlands, as well as Man City Women's stadium being added to the game. They are LAFC's Banc of California, Real Vallodolid CF's José Zorrilla Stadium,
Freiburg’s Europa-Park Stadion & PSV’s Philips Stadion. The Etihad now has a fully built exterior for the first time to make it look more realistic.
New Leagues
New women's leagues have also been included with the Division 1 Féminine (French women’s league), Women’s club football and the WSL are confirmed.
